We are half way through the year…how are you doing with your New Year’s Resolutions? Are you tackling them with gusto, or have they fallen by the wayside? If you are like most people, you don’t even remember what you so passionately committed to on January 1st. Not to worry, It’s a great time to review and re-vision if necessary, here’s why:
Sunshine—The Natural Mood Booster
The warm sunshine is known for boosting moods and creating a sense of overall wellness. When we feel good, we tend to be much more motivated to make positive changes. Use the sunshine as a motivator to fuel you into action!
Long Days Ahead
Longer days give us the perception that we have more time to knock of tasks and accomplish goals. Go ahead, take advantage of those extra daylight hours!
Physical Health = Mental Health
There is a strong correlation between physical wellness and mental wellness. The summer months allow for us to get outdoors and get active with much less effort than in the winter. Get outside and get moving!
- Make a list of 2-3 goals that you would like to accomplish by the end of the year. Use the SMART formula (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-Sensitive) to stay on track.
- Break your 2-3 goals into bite-sized steps that you can actually schedule into your day timer over the next few weeks and months. Schedule them in as appointments.
- Create a “vision board” with pictures that reflect where you would like to be personally, physically, relationally, financially, etc by the end of the year. Place your vision board in a location where you can see it everyday. Statistics show that people that reflect on a vision board daily are 75% more likely to attain their goals! So, what are you waiting for???
